2010 Series to Start list

I've been reading Romance (historical, contemporary, paranormal, UF) for about a year now and I have discovered so many incredible authors and books. BUT, there are several series floating around out there that I haven't picked up yet.
Up until recently, J.D. Robb's In Death series was one of them. I'm glad I took that challenge, I've read the first two books and enjoyed them.

Here are some other series I'd like to read:

Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series
Stephanie Lauren's Cynster books

Josh Lanyon's Jake Riordan series

Rachel Caine - Morganville Vampires and Weather Warden series

Meljean Brooks Demon series

Richelle Mead's Thorn Queen books

Allison Noel's Evermore series

Hmmm...I noticed all but one are paranormal...
What are some of your favorite series? What would you recommend?

  2. Oh this is a great post!

I want to start the following series in 2010:

Following in Kindle Vixen's footsteps: Larissa Ione's Demonica series and Karen Marie Moning's Fever series.

Futhermore, Sydney Croft (which is writer duo Larissa Ione and Stephanie Tyler)'s ACRO series, HelenKay Dimon's Hawaii Heroes series and Ann Aguirre's Jax series....among others...where I am ever going to find the time, is beyond me...

As to series I have already read and would recommend:
Anna Windsor's Dark Crescent Sisterhood. Great Paranormal Romance books with a little of an UF feel to them.

Contemporary I would recommend Carly Phillips' Lucky Trilogy

And for some steamy contemporary/suspense I'd recommend Shannon McKenna's McCloud Brother series!!

  3. You've got some good ones on there! I love Harry Dresden. He's such a fuck up!

And I think you'll love Josh Lanyon's Adrien English series. (He's the main character - Jake is, well, Jake.)

Meljean Brooks' Guardian series is another good one - the first story is actually in the Hot Spell collection. (Mmmm... Nathan Kamp cover...)

  4. I have Alyson Noel sitting in my TBR pile too.

I can definitely vouch for Richelle Mead's 'Dark Swan' series (very, very sexy!) as well as Rachel Caine's 'Morganville Vampires' & 'Weather Warden'. Those are 3 of my all time favorite UF series, I hope you like them!

  5. Jim Butcher's Dresden Files is one of my favorite series.

I've had fun reading the Morganville Vampire series but it's always ending on a HUGE cliffhanger.

  6. Great post!

I want to start KMM's Fever series too and Lynda Hilburn's vampire chronicles, they have been on my shelf way to long! And I need to finish the Shannon McKenna series, started that one but did not finish it, also I need to catch up in Kenyon's Dark Hunters.

  8. Marissa before you start the Fever series, I would suggest you read the Highlander series because the Fever series is a continuation of the Highlander one by KMMoning.

Patti, I am a Harry Dresden addict, so if you're asking what would I recommend? Heck, girl, take Harry Dresden!! :)

  10. Kindle Vixen - I enjoyed Larissa Ione's series and LOVE KMM - do def read her Highlanders before her Fever series - they do overlap.

Pearl - that Dark Sisterhood series sounds right up my alley!

Chris - see? I know they're all good, I've just got to find time to read them!!!

Danielle - you're recommendations swayed my undecidedness to read these books!

pattepoilue - Grrr, I hate cliffhangers (do you hear me Karen Marie Moning?) and yes, although you don't HAVE to, I'd recommend reading the Highlanders before Fever.

Marissa - I enjoyed Linda Hillburns vampire books (I think there's only two right now?). I could also do a whole post on the series I've started but haven't finished yet!!!

Blodeuedd - I'm in the same boat, too many series to start but I still haven't finished a lot either!

Cherry - yes, I bought the first one to read and my husband picked it up...he's read the whole series and I still haven't started the first book!

  11. That are a lot of series already, Patti! But if I can recommend one, it would def be the series I'm in the middle of now: The Rough Riders series by Lorelei James. Great looking cowboy brothers and cousins with sassy women. Not one of the love couples is the same and neither are the events. I'm in love with half of the McKay men *grin*!!
    :)

  13. I've been meaning to read the Dresden Files for awhile now. Oh, the Morganville Vampire series is amazing! My favorite paranormal series is the Sookie books by Charlaine Harris, the Rachel Morgan series by Kim Harrison, both Anita and Merry series by Laurell K. Hamilton, and both Patricia Briggs' Mercy and her Alpha and Omega series too. Oh! Can't forget my favorite YA paranormal series: The House of Night books by P.C. & Kristin Cast
