Looking for that Special Someone/thing...

You know how you make a plan and RL throws stuff in the way? Yeah, that's where I'm at now. We didn't get to see the parade Tuesday night - Lord knows we tried! The parades were canceled tonight due to inclement weather (2 out of 3 were rescheduled - yay!), and The Littlest Book Addict is sick - cold and 102.5 fever :( So, all those carefully made plans flew right out the window!

I am looking for a book recommendation. I want an Alpha Male, but not a military-type Alpha; preferably paranormal or contemporary. (I know, I know - lots of requirements!!) Any suggestions? He doesn't need to bring firewood like the guy above, although it is cold outside and a girl needs to be kept warm...

  1. Check out Jessica Bird (aka JR Ward).

I just finished her 'Moorehouse Legacy' series, and her 'O'Banyon Brothers' book. Really good stuff - contemporary romance that sometimes reminded me of 'Blackdagger Brotherhood', minus the paranormal. I'm going to start her stand-alone novels next.

  2. I'd recommend something from Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series (http://www.shellylaurenston.com/series.php) - they're my favorite alpha males and with the twist of being shape shifters, I never get bored!

  3. Here's hoping the Littlest Book Addict gets better soon!

Have you read Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series? Slave to Sensation is the first one. Lots of alphas!

If you want romantic suspense with an alpha (but not crazily alpha) male, I'd highly recommend Don't Look Down by Suzanne Enoch - that series is well done and has lots of humor, too.

Chris - I've only read the first two Psy/Changeling, maybe I should jump back into that - thanks! Will also look into Ms. Enoch (hmmm...that sounds weird).

Blodeuedd - Yes, since I've been into this for about a year or so I know there's still sooo much for me to discover!
