50th Post Giveaway!

I'm back! Many thanks to my SIL who helped me with the makeover - Love You!!!

Here's the thing: I'm pretty new to Romance reading, whether it be paranormal, historical, or whatever. I'm an avid reader, and it usually takes me 2 days, tops, to read a book. Exception: Diana Gabaldon - so not complaining, love her! So, I fervently search other book blogs for reviews and recommendations. I've read so many, many books reviewed and recommended by other bloggers and for that I am eternally thankful to you all! My only problem is that I have all these tiny post-it's and scraps of paper with authors and titles written on them floating around in my purse so I don't forget what I want to read.... it looks like a trash can inside my purse!

I will say my list is VERY short on sexy Highlanders, so if you know of any of those, I'd appreciate a recommendation. I'm also running out of paranormal romance TBRs, which was how I was introduced to romance in the first place.

However, now I've got a huge pile of books I've read that don't have room for, so decided to celebrate my 50th post by doing a giveaway from my bookshelf. Your choice of :

the three SJ Day Eve books

or
the three Nicola Cornick Daughters of Fortune books.

I like meeting book bloggers and want to know - what is your favorite book or series and who is your favorite author? Leave a comment with a book/author recommendations, mention which set you'd like to win, and follow me or post about my contest, and I'll pick one winner for each set on August 21. Thanks!

  1. Hi Patti, absolutely luuuuurve the new look!! You've made quite a place for yourself here ;D And you want highlanders, girl, I've got highlanders for you!!! I am re-reading the Highlander series by Karen Moning at the moment an falling in love all over again with those MacKeltar men!
    Highlander
    1. Beyond the Highland Mist (1999)
    2. To Tame a Highland Warrior (1999)
    3. The Highlander's Touch (2000)
    4. Kiss of the Highlander (2001)
    5. The Dark Highlander (2002)
    6. The Immortal Highlander (2004)
    7. Spell of the Highlander (2005)

Kresley Cole also has a highlander trilogy which I have not read but heard good things about:
    MacCarrick Brothers
    1. If You Dare (2005)
    2. If You Desire (2007)
    3. If You Deceive (2007)

I've also heard good things of the two trilogies from Monica McCarty:
    Highlander Unchained (2007)
    Highlander Untamed (2007)
    Highlander Unmasked (2007)

    Highland Scoundrel (2009)
    Highland Warrior (2009)
    Highland Outlaw (2009)

My recs whch I've also read:
    Anna Windsor
    Dark Crescent Sisterhood
    1. Bound By Shadow (2008)
    2. Bound By Flame (2008)
    3. Bound By Light (2008)
    This is very good reading!

    CL Wilson:
    Tairen Soul
    1. Lord of the Fading Lands (2007)

    Untouched (2007)
    Captive of Sin (2009)

And if I may win, let it be the Nicole Cornick trilogy.

  2. I love the new look!!

Leontine pretty much covered the Highlanders..I do have to say Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series is one of my favorites!

This has nothing to do with Highlanders, but I need to pimp a book...I just read Grimspace by Ann Aguirre - have you read this?? You must!!!!

(I have all Eve books, but not the Nicola Cornick books..they look good:)

    ReplyDelete
  3. I love the new look. :)

Leontine did cover the Highlanders pretty well. :)

I have read The Masters of Time series by Brenda Joyce and enjoyed that one quite a bit. In my opinion it is somewhat of a historical/paranormal series. Modern girl goes back in time with hunky warrior dude......pretty good reads. LOL

As far as paranormal romance, some of my favorite authors are:

    Laura Adrian
    Angela Knight
    Jessica Andersen
    Nalini Singh
    Gena Showalter
    Christina Dodd
    Deborah Cooke
    Sherrilyn Kenyon
    Larissa Ione
    Kresley Cole

I have more - but they are labeled 'fantasy' on the spine. I usually lump them in with the paranormal romance - because they generally have the same types of elements - but I wasn't sure if you would be interested in those. :)

I have the first 2 books in the SJ Day series - but my daughter would love the Nicola Cornick series.

Thank you for the giveaway. :)

  4. Hey Patti! Love the new look girl!

Let's see, what highland romances haven't been mentioned? Well, I can recommend Dawn Halliday's 'Highland Obsession' and the upcoming yummy goodness that is 'Highland Dragon' by Kimberly Killion.

Right now my fave series are the Psy/Changeling and Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh, The Guardians by Meljean Brook, Patrica Brigg's Alpha and Omega, and Ward's BDB series.

No need to enter me in the contest, I've already purchased all these books. Yikes!

    (((hugs))) VFG
