Books As Fashion

I've seen wearable book jewelry, and I love it.  There are several pieces I'd love to own:

These book necklaces by Margo Kent are pretty darn cool:

This one from bindingbee is just precious and I love the tiny key:

From artist Janna Syvanoja; this piece is gorgeous (not sure if it's a necklace or pin):

There are book purses (LOVE!!!):

Or, if you'd rather, a clutch from bibliobags:

And did you know there are dresses made out of books?

Here is a children's book dress made by Susan Perine:
Makes me think of flappers from the 1920's; it's adorable!

This is probably my favorite, by Ryan Novelline (the link has a gorgeous view of the back):
Made entirely from Little Golden Books - even the bodice is made from the spines!

I love it when people use books as wearable art; it's so much fun!

  1. Dancing Goat Studio in New London, MN (a few hours northwest of Minneapolis) also makes recycled book purses.

And... you so made linkity. :)

  2. I want a bookpurse :D

Oh cool and a Finnish artist, it first threw me off since the dots were missing from the last name

  3. These are cute. I got a purse one year for my birthday made out of recycled magazine that featured Brad Pitt on the cover. I don't use it that often because I don't want to ruin it but I love it.

  4. I LOVE book purses!! I got one for my mom's birthday last year.

  5. I love the necklaces in the first picture!

  6. That last dress *princess fetish kickin in* LOL Beautiful dress!

  7. Ohhhhhhhhhhh la la.... I love those! All of them! I want one of each please, thank you!
    Great birthday list Patti!
    Hugs to you honey!

  8. How awesome are the book purses! I never even knew they existed! I'll have to check them out.

  9. Chris: I think I'm asking for one for Christmas. I made linkity? Squee!

Blodeuedd: I couldn't figure the dots out, lol.

Paranormal Haven: I'll bet it's adorable!

TBV: I'm wondering how sturdy they are.

Aurian: I know - I want those too!

Scarlett: People are so creative; I love it too ;)

    Leontine: Definitely my favorite!

Cecile: Maybe they'll give us a group discount, lol!

Pam: There's a video online somewhere about how to make your own. I'm not that crafty.

  10. Patti I checked out the first one. $375.00. Can't believe she wants another $7.00 shipping. For $375.00 she can't ship it to me for free?????
